-
Do I need to plan for time off, for the treatments?"No. Pain-Free, Hair-Free requires no “down time” or recovery time. You can have a treatment and return to work or school immediately.
-
Will my hair ever grow back? The short answer is no. Once the hair follicle is damaged, it cannot grow new hair. However, there are invariably a few hair follicles that manage to partially escape the laser during each treatment. Some of these follicles may be only stunned and will need to be retreated.
-
How many treatments will it take? That's a very hard question to answer. And if someone answers it with a very short, easy answer spitting out one number they are not truthful. Laser hair removal is a process. We are slowly damaging the follicles so that hopefully, well in most situations, the follicles will get damaged enough that they are not able to produce a viable hair at some point. Learn more in our BLOG.
-
How far apart are the treatments? For most people the treatments for the face are every 5 weeks and every 6 weeks for all other body parts. You will go through the entire cycle which is the hair being damaged with the treatment.

Can you laser over a tattoo? No, you cannot laser over a tattoo. The laser will explode the ink and burn the skin. An some people do not like their tattoo and ask that I do laser over it to get rid of it but we cannot do that. We will burn your skin. Please advice your laser technician on any non visible tattoos.
-
How dark can your skin be to laser with the Alma system? The Alma laser is FDA approved for all skin types. The only issue that we have when lasering dark skin is when the skin in a particular area is very dark where it is hard to distinguish between the skin and the hair. The laser is looking for melanin and if the skin is just as dark as the hair then the laser has a hard time picking up the hair.
-
Can you laser Blonde or Gray hairs?Every laser is attracted to one thing. With laser hair removal the laser is attracted to pigment (or melanin). Gray hair has zero pigment, blonde having very little. Most blondes have very light hair on their face, arms and legs but for many their bikini and underarm hairs have more pigment. As long as the hair looks a little darker there is a good chance that we will be able to laser them.

-
What is MicroNeedling? The procedure uses a pen with fine needles that puncture the skin and create a controlled skin injury in order to rejuvenate the skin. The idea is that the damage caused by the needles encourages your body to send healing agents (elastin and collagen) to the area to repair them. By making tiny columns of drama in the dermis the body is forced to make new collagen to fill them in and heal them. The new collage makes the skin look and feel slicker, tighter, and more youthful.

-
MicroNeedling Post Treatment.Your face (or other area that you are treating) will be red after the treatment. You may feel slight discomfort the first 12 hours or so- very similar to if you have a sunburn. By the next morning most people only have slight redness left similar to having a slight sunburn. Any areas that we treat deeper- like fine lines, neck lines, acne scars- you ma have some red ness that lasts for a few days. The second day we recommend applying some topical serums or creams with active ingredients that will now easily penetrate deep not the skin. By making tiny channels in the skin with the procedure the products can go deeper into the skin which is very beneficial. The skin may be slightly irritated with the products but well worth the small amount of discomfort.
-
How many treatments are needed for MicroNeedling?Micro needling is typically performed in a series of four to six sessions spaced about a month apart. You will get results after one but doing a series will only increase the results. Especially for working with acne scars and stretch marks more then one treatment is definitely needed to get optimal results.
-
What is the cost of MicroNeedling? The price for micro needling at PBL is $250 for the full face. If you add the neck area the cost is $50 more as is the décolleté. Other areas must be evaluated for pricing.

What is the Opus Plasma?Opus Plasma is considered an energy-based devices. It works by creating targeted areas of trauma in the skin and stimulating a wound-healing response, which in turn yields an improvement in tone and texture. Like many modern energy-based devices, the Opus Plasma is a micro-ablative, fractional technology. This means that it treats only tiny portions (fractions, as it were) of the skin in order to control tissue damage and minimize healing time.
-
How does the Opus Plasma work? The metal pins of the Opus Plasma device are charged with radiofrequency energy. It’s this energy that reacts with atmospheric pressure in order to create the plasma that “injures” the skin—but it also has an added benefit. While the plasma works more superficially, the radiofrequency energy creates heat in the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and, ultimately, helping tighten the skin.
-
Who are the best candidates for an Opus Plasma treatment?Opus Plasma is a good choice for those looking to smooth textural issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. It also is best in treating skin elasticity and sagging.

-
What is downtime after treatment? For 24-48hrs the skin may be slightly swollen and irritated. Some flaking may occur after a few days but should be cleared up within a week.

-
Can you describe the treatment procedure?Similar to the microneedling procedure, Morpheus8 sends radiofrequency energy deep into the skin’s deepest layers to trigger collagen and elastin production that microneedling alone cannot do. We will apply numbing cream to the treatment areas 1hour before the procedure. The Morpheus8 handheld device is used to make minuscule perforations to the skin. Then the RF energy penetrates deep into your dermal layer, creating a tightening effect. Your whole treatment is about two hours and delivers exceptional results. Depending on the sensitivity of the area being treated or the clients pain tolerance, you can opt to get Pronox administered during the treatment, reducing anxiety and lessen the pain in most instances.

How many treatments are needed? We recommend a minimal of three treatments spread out 3 to 4 weeks apart for optimal results. Your microneedling results with RF technology will last from one to three years, with annual visits to maintain collagen production. You can expect to see visible improvement in your skin texture and tone almost immediately. Two to three weeks after your Morpheus8 session, the collagen production begins to work, making your skin brighter, tighter with an overall smoother complexion.
-
Morpheus8 and PRP. A great combination. As an added benefit to your microneedling treatment, we can add your platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to your microneedling treatment. Before your treatment, your aesthetic specialist will do a blood draw, which is then taken to be separated for the regenerative cells, platelets, and growth factors that make up your PRP. After your aesthetic specialist completes the microneedling portion, your PRP solution is then applied to your skin to improve your skin’s texture to stimulate collagen production.
